Welcome to Galway Culture Night 2011!

Welcome to Galway Culture Night 2011!

We have a jam-packed programme for you to choose from with theatre, visual arts, talks, exhibitions, science, heritage, music, readings, film, dance performances, workshops, horticulture and gardens, literature and a whole lot more. With over 50 free events taking place all over the city, there is plenty to see, and get involved in, and we hope that there is something for everyone. This year we are delighted to welcome European Researchers Night 2011 and their fantastic Sea2Sky popular science interactive exhibitions and events in Salthill. Or why not visit the readings in Charlie Byrne's bookshop, the exhibitions open late all over the city, or the concerts in historic locations? We will also have a Culture Bus running free throughout the city for all culture vultures who wish to take in as much as they possibly can. There may even be a few surprises on board.

All events are free and open to all ages. With so much happening, what will you see?

PLEASE NOTE: the venue for the Sean agus Nua music gig has been changed from the Blue Teapots space in Munster Avenue to the Nuns Island Theatre in Nuns' Island.

Culture Night is a nationwide initiative and is Ireland's largest platform to showcase its rich cultural and artistic treasures and provides the opportunity to all to participate in free arts and cultural events throughout the country.

Galway Culture Night takes place in venues all over the city from 5pm – 11pm (some earlier) on Friday September 23rd, 2011.
